I led the frontend development of an internal tool to automate client-facing PDF reports for a Tokyo-based sales team. These reports, spanning 20–100 pages per client, were previously created manually using PowerPoint and Excel — a process that took 1–2 weeks each month.

The new React-based tool enabled intuitive data selection, chart generation, and multi-page PDF export via UI — reducing the effort to just a few hours. I also converted raw SQL queries into Prisma models, ensuring secure, scalable access to sensitive financial datasets.

📍Context

The Tokyo-based sales team needed to send tailored reports to 20–30 clients every month. These reports, typically 20–100 pages each, were manually compiled by a team engineer — using data from a large-scale internal financial DB, PowerPoint, and Excel.

This workflow not only consumed significant time (5–10 working days per month) but also introduced inconsistency risks and opportunity costs.

The goal was to build an internal web tool that could:

• Visualize key metrics clearly
• Reduce manual workload
• Enable future handoff to non-technical sales team members
